Fujifilm has announced the latest addition to the Instax Square range, the SQ40, which creates prints 1.5 times the size of the Mini Instax range, will be available at the end of June with an RRP of $229.
As well as announcing the SQ40, Fujifilm also unveiled new ‘Sunset’ variety of Square film and the Instax Mini Evo in a new brown colour way.

The SQ40 is joined by new INSTAX film in ‘Sunset’ and the addition of a new colour for the much-loved mini Evo Hybrid Instant Camera
FUJIFILM Australia has today announced the latest addition to its INSTAX line-up, the new
INSTAX SQUARE SQ40 instant camera. Along with the camera, INSTAX has introduced a fun,
new INSTAX SQUARE instant film, “Sunset”, which features a variety of film borders with soft
colour gradients designed to be reminiscent of a vibrant, peaceful sunset.
Creating wider prints than the INSTAX mini models, the SQ40 is set to make capturing group
shots even more exciting!

another new product that continues to bring fun and sophistication to instant photography, “The
INSTAX mini 40 instant camera has proved hugely popular since its launch, so we are excited to
bring this style and sophistication to the SQUARE format. The SQ40 brings an ease of use and
quality prints along with a unique classic look that INSTAX fans will love, along with the larger
INSTAX SQUARE image area.”
With its sleek black camera body, the SQ40 features all your favourite INSTAX inclusions,
along with some exciting features:
AUTOMATIC EXPOSURE FUNCTION
The SQ40’s Automatic Exposure function automatically senses the level of ambient light when
the shutter button is pressed, optimising the shutter speed and flash output according to the
scene. It allows even novice INSTAX instant camera users to take photos that are automatically
adjusted regardless of interior or exterior conditions, producing high-quality photos on-the-spot
with zero effort!
SELFIE MODE FOR QUICKER AND EASIER SELFIES
Selfie Mode, perfect for taking selfies and close-up shots, is simply activated by twisting the lens
after powering the SQ40 on. Using this mode makes taking amazing selfies and close-up shots
incredibly easy and convenient.
COMPATIBLE WITH THE INSTAX UP! APP
The new INSTAX SQUARE SQ40™ is complemented by the revolutionary INSTAX UP! app 1
that allows users to scan their favourite INSTAX memories with their smartphone and save them
as digital photos. The App won’t compromise the INSTAX effect and will convert prints to digital
with the signature INSTAX frame.
Within the App, backgrounds can be added to prints to make them even more special and
unique. With the press of a button, physical INSTAX prints are now digital and can be viewed
anytime, anywhere. Users can also upload favourite INSTAX prints directly to social media from
within the INSTAX UP! app, making sharing with friends and family a breeze.
FRESH NEW PRINTS
Also accompanying the launch of SQ40 is Fujifilm’s launch of the new INSTAX SQUARE
“Sunset” variety of instant film. The design of this new square format instant film is inspired by
the gentle gradation of the colours in the sky during a sunset. As with all INSTAX SQUARE
instant film varieties, Sunset will be available in a single pack with 10 exposures.
INSTAX MINI EVO BROWN
Two new products weren’t enough for Fujifilm INSTAX with a new colour now available in the
INSTAX mini Evo range. Initially introduced in 2021 in a black camera body, mini Evo’s unique
hybrid format uses traditional instant camera digital imaging technology seamlessly in order to
select, share, and store specific images. Paired with INSTAX mini instant film, mini Evo creates
high-quality prints directly from the camera. Along with this, images can also be printed from a
paired smartphone camera roll using the INSTAX mini Evo smartphone app 2.
Pricing and availability
Fujifilm INSTAX SQUARE SQ40 instant camera will be available at a suggested retail price of
