New Epson Surelab under $2000

Hard on the heels of the release of the duplex-capable Surelab D1060, Epson has launched the latest in its SureLab inkjet minilab range, the SureLab D560.

The desktop unit has been designed and built for a variety of environments including kiosk, studio, retail and events. It appears Australia is one of the first markets in which the new unit has been released, perhaps reflecting the success the Surelab range has enjoyed in the A / NZ market. (Well done, Independent Photo!)

The SureLab D560 weighs in at only 7kg, with dimensions of just 299 x 350 x 154cm, suitable for portable applications.

It outputs 4×6- and 3.5×5-inch photos – using cut-sheet media only –  in gloss or lustre and can be used to print in duplex mode. It holds 100 sheets of media, and Epson says it has a print speed of 250 4×6-inch images.

It used the same 6-channel MicroPiezo printhead and UltraChrome D6r-S dye-based inkset as the SureLab D1060 and ‘enjoys the same high print quality as the SureLab D1060.’

Ink comes in bottles with capacities of 70ml. It features all-front access for easy ink refill, media loading and maintenance tank change.

Print life cycle is 100,000, and three printers can be stacked for great productivity in a small footprint.

Key features:

Epson Surelab D560 stacked array with Order Controller software.

• UltraChrome D6r-S ink in 70ml bottles deliver better prints with finer gradation and a wider colour gamut, while reducing cost and waste;
• Integrated output tray. Integrated LCD panel for direct control, as well as an upgraded driver for desktop management (Windows & Mac OS compatible). Supports Epson’s new Cloud Solution PORT service for remote monitoring and analysis. This allows access from a web-based interface in the office, from home, and from a mobile device when on the move. The optional SureLab OrderController software offers additional flexibility for efficient management and control of print orders;
• Supplied complete with 2 sets of inks, 800 sheets of single-sided gloss and 400 sheets of single-sided lustre media;
• 18W power consumption, and only 1.4W when in sleep. Connect easily to printer over Wi-Fi, Ethernet or USB using redesigned printer driver for Windows and Mac.
