Queensland-based distributor Digiframe has launched a new smartphone/tablet accessory which should walk off photo store shelves – a remote control trigger dubbed the Easy Shot Selfie Button.

Just as the name suggests, the Selfie Button eliminates the ubiquitous arms-length, armless selfie, allowing the capture of better self and group portraits via remote control.
The kit includes the Selfie Button, two mobile stands, a carry strap and access to the free app which drives the system.
The stands can be used to set the smartphone on a stable surface in vertical or horizontal format. The button itself is a remote control switch which uses ultrasonic waves – no Bluetooth or WiFi is required – to trigger the phone. It has a range up to 8 – 10 metres.
Self-timer options can be chosen via the app, or a simple press of the button triggers the smartphone shutter. Users can even chose between the front and rear cameras on their smartphone using the button.
The Selfie Button battery is good for more than 10,000 shots.
The Easy Shot Selfie Button has an RRP of $39.95. It’s compatible with both Apple (iOS 5, 6, 7) and Android (3.2 – 4.3) devices.
