Retailers Ted’s Camera and DigiDIRECT were among those with cash registers running at the AIPP’s ‘The Event’ conference for professional photographers, held last weekend in Hobart.
Close to 500 delegates attended The Event, which also featured a mini trade show featuring conference sponsors and others. There were over 20 stands in total, with leading sponsors Nikon and Epson prominent.
DigiDIRECT provided a Nikon D4 as a door prize and promoted the conference on its Facebook site.
‘The whole trade show has been a huge success for us,’ said DigiDIRECT chief purchasing officer, Paul Clayton.
‘Equipment sales were good, plus pro bags and other accessories like Gitzo, Manfrotto, Pelican, Rode, Datacolor and Colourmunki.
‘The main benefit was our ability to meet and greet so many of our online customers – professional photographers that buy from DigiDIRECT on a constant basis for their equipment and consumables.
‘With the DigiDIRECT Brisbane store due to open in two weeks, it gave us an added incentive to meet and greet with the Queenslanders at the conference,’ said Mr Clayton.
Other sponsors of The Event included Photo Counter supporters Epson, Adeal, Maxwell and CR Kennedy.
