Fuji launches toner-based photo printer

Fujifilm presented the four-colour Fujifilm CX 3240 Creative Duplex Printer to Camera House retailers at their recent annual get-together in Manly.

The toner-based printer can make borderless prints from 3.5×5-inches up to 8.5×14-inches.

While it can create photo prints, the relatively narrow colour gamut of electrophotographic printing probably makes it more suited to photo cards, greeting cards, invitations, calendars and photo books.

It handles cardstock to 324gsm and is capable of duplex printing.

– That’s about all we can tell you. It appears to be on limited release around the world and we understand it’s currently on trial at Walmart stores in the US. In Europe it is priced at 3300 Euros, which should see it offered in Australia at around US$6000.

We scoured the internet for more information, and came across a few short ‘how-to’ videos. This one below, which runs through how to set up the printer – on Adobe software – to print a double-sided 5×7-inch photo print, gives an idea of the CX 3240 in action.
