Perth’s PhotoLive Expo returns

Camera Electronic’s PhotoLive Expo will return in physical form on Sunday, August 1, with speaker sessions, workshops, and a trade show featuring the latest camera gear.

Western Australia has enjoyed a relatively lockdown-free pandemic. The odd scare here and there, occasional talk of secession, but nothing to complain about compared with the far distant eastern seaboard.

And so Perth’s PhotoLive Expo 2021 will be one of the first major in-person Australian photography events since Covid kicked in. The annual event started in 2015, and is Perth’s largest photography expo. And with no other events like it on the calendar now that Michaels is closed, it’s possibly Australia’s largest annual photo industry expo!

Camera Electronic has 20 brand sponsors, with each having a presence at the trade show. Attendees will have an opportunity to try and buy the latest gear, with experts and brand reps on hand to run demonstrations. Even pre-Covid, PhotoLive Expo was the only event to bring so many brands into the same room for a trade show. Special discounts on select products will be available.

Camera Electronic has brought in some of Western Australia’s finest photographers for the 12 presentations, with the likes of Alex Cearns, James Simmons, Mark Brierley, Shelley Pearson, Hugh Brown, and Chris Saunders running 40-minute speaker sessions. There is something for everyone – cinematography, bird photography, commercial, landscape, live music, pets, fine art, and even how to run TikTok for business!

Speaker sessions are $8 pre-sale, or $12 on the day.

Six two-hour workshops are also available, with subjects ranging from post-processing with Lightroom and Capture One, through to Sports, Burlesque, baby photography, and candid portraiture.

Workshops are $65 pre-sale, or $95 on the day.

PhotoLive Expo runs on Sunday. August 1, 2021, at the ECU Mount Lawley Building 3
