CR Kennedy expands Hoya, Tokina and Kenko to NZ

CR Kennedy has expanded its range in New Zealand with its appointment as distributor of the Hoya, Tokina and Kenko brands.

CR Kennedy has been Australian distributor of these brands for many years, with the expansion providing a range of benefits to Kiwi customers.

‘This will give New Zealand customers a wider range of products, because not only do we hold stock in our New Zealand warehouse, but in addition to this stock can called upon from our HQ warehouse in Melbourne, with multiple shipments to NZ every week,’ explained CR Kennedy & Co joint managing director, Clem Kennedy (pictured right).

‘Prices will be sharper due to increased buying power, and our company’s commitment to world parity pricing. New Zealand customer will now enjoy world parity pricing on all these products at the local retail level.’

He added that the Hoya, Tokina and Kenko products will now be ranged in more retail outlets, which means for the end-user there will be more locations to touch, try, and buy these products. The economies of scale delivered by a larger distributor is a win-win for both NZ retailers and consumers.

‘In short, a wider range of Hoya, Tokina, and Kenko products will now be available in New Zealand at a quicker time, to more locations, and at better prices,’ said Clem.

Kenko Tokina had one of the larger stands at the CP+ trade exhibition in Yokohama last month.

Hoya is the world’s largest optical glass manufacture, with a 50 percent market share. It supplies its glass to most of the renowned optical lens manufacturers in Japan and around the world and holds the number one share of camera filters worldwide. Kenko Tokina is the world-wide export agent for Hoya filters.

Tokina, with an optical glass manufacturing history dating back to the 1950s, specialises in high-quality lenses for today’s interchangeable lens cameras. It offers an extensive range of accessory lenses for most camera brands, including the new premium-grade Firin lenses for full-frame mirrorless cameras.

Kenko (along with Tokina part of Kenko Tokina Co since 2011), also has a proud optical manufacturing tradition, dating back to 1957. It specialises in tele converters, extension tubes, binoculars and filters, and also offers a range of flash and studio lighting products.
