Panasonic Australia has launched Lumix Pro Services (LPS), a membership program providing prioritised support and repairs to professional Lumix shooters. Panasonic joins the likes of Canon, Nikon, Sony and Fujifilm by offering a dedicated pro service. Membership is divided into two categories, Silver and Platinum.
Silver membership costs $99 per year and eligibility requires either one S or G series camera body and two lenses. Platinum membership is $299 and eligibility require one camera body and three lenses.
Both memberships provide a dedicated support hot line, loan equipment when repair turnaround time cannot be met, and free shipping both ways.
The Platinum guaranteed repair turnaround time – not including shipping/transit – is two days, while Silver is two; two evaluation loan equipment are available by select Lumix dealers with the loan period of a week for Platinum and three days for Silver; and finally Platinum includes two free sensor cleans, global membership access.
The online platform allows members to book sensor cleans at service partners, book loan equipment, lodge repairs and make technical enquiries. The phone line is available Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 6:00pm AEST.
A Panasonic Australia spokesperson informed Inside Imaging that it directly provides and manages the phone line, and ‘an Australian authorised repairer… facilitates repairs within the set turnaround times and provides repair loan equipment if those times are unable to be met.
