Ilford has released a new range of Ilford Galerie Décor canvas in rolls from 24-inch through to 64-inch, targetted at the expanding home décor market.
Growing demand by homemakers, interior designers and businesses wanting to enhance the spaces they
work and live in with unique wall art has prompted Ilford to expand its commercial wide-format range with three new canvas surfaces: Glossy, Matt and Bright White.
The range hits the sweet spot for commercial labs and high-volume photo shops between quality and price.
‘The Décor Canvas range delivers high image quality, it’s archival, but well-priced,’ said Marc Payet, general manager, consumer division for Ilford’s local distributor (and co-owner), CR Kennedy & Co.
The Ilford Galerie Décor range has great stretchability for framing, and resistance to folding crack, he added. Its fast-drying characteristics are suitable for high-speed, high throughput workflows and a nanoporous coating reduces the impact of reflected light.
He said there has been strong growth in large prints – 60 to 64-inch – for photo reproduction and illustration, but businesses with 44- and 24-inch printers can also participate in the décor market.
The range consists of:
Ilford Galerie Décor Canvas Glossy (400GSM): a cotton/polyester blend canvas with a natural tint designed to offer high performance professional photographic and décor art reproduction printing. The Glossy surface enhances depth and tonality for more vivid colours and deep blacks;
Ilford Galerie Décor Canvas Matt Cotton (370GSM): a 100 percent cotton canvas with a natural tint designed to offer high performance professional photographic and décor art reproduction printing. The structure of the matt surface has a subtle weave which enhances fine details;
Ilford Galerie Décor Canvas Bright White (380GSM): a cotton/polyester blend canvas with a bright white tint designed to offer high performance professional photographic and décor art reproduction printing. The matt structure of the surface produces a more decorative effect by enhancing details such as texture.
The Ilford Gallerie Decor Canvas range is available in 24-, 44-, 60- and 64-inch rolls.
