Sony SD cards might corrupt files

Sony Australia has issued a Product Advisory for nine products in the company’s SD memory card range. The affected cards – some of which are at the premium end – can potentially corrupting files when recording video.

SF-M Series:
SF-M64;
SF-M128;
SF-M256
(Applicable cards can be identified by the presence of V60, R:277MB/s, and W:150MB/s on the card frontside.)

 

SF-M Series ‘Tough’ sub-brand:
SF-M64T;
SF-M128T
SF-M256T

SF-G Series ‘Tough’ sub-brand
SF-G32T
SF-G64T
SF-G128T

Sony Australia is offering to replacement any affected memory cards free of charge for the next 21 months, through to March 31, 2022. Any data on cards sent in for replacement needs to be copied prior to forwarding to Sony.
