Low Light guide an all-Australian production

The totally excellent series of photography pocket guides from Media Publishing (Photo Review Australia) is complemented this month by the second edition of its Low Light Photography guide, out just in time for Christmas.

Printed, published and written in Australia for Australian conditions – with ISO 14001 Environmental Accreditation – the new edition is fully revised and updated. It covers:
– the fundamentals of how to assess low light levels and balance aperture, shutter speed and ISO;
– surreal long exposure shots;
– sunset and sunrise images;
– mixed lighting plus on- and off-camera flash;
– recently introduced camera shooting modes that can produce clear and well-composed low light shots.

Understanding how to get the best images in low light conditions is a critical step on the path to good photographic technique. It’s essential even with today’s digital, ‘auto-everything’ cameras, and is almost guaranteed to improve photographic technique in all shooting conditions.

The 84-page, A-5-format Low Light guide is rich with photographic examples on every opening. Author Margaret Brown, technical editor of  Photo Review Australia magazine and website has been writing on photography for more than 30 years – and taking pictures for even longer.

The Low Light Pocket Guide is $19.99 in perfect bound printed version, and $9.99 for the Ebook. Both are available from the Photo Review Shop.

The Media Publishing pocket guide series is also available to photo retailers on a wholesale basis, with an attractive margin on RRP built in. Call David O’Sullivan on (02) 9948 8600 or contact@photoreview.com.au
