Here’s something different – a monopod with three feet: Vanguard has announced the VEO 2S range of monopods – all of which have three feet for better stability.
These monopods are ideal for situations where tripods aren’t permitted, such as concerts and sporting events and increasingly these days, tourist spots.
Three models in the range of four have a smartphone connector which accommodates smartphones up to a generous 8.6cm wide.
The other unit in the family features a Vanguard 2-way video head for using a DSLR or mirrorless camera for moving images.
The range runs from the VEO 2S AM-234TR with a 23mm diametre leg which weighs just 805g and extends from folded length of 53cm to 155cm and has a maximum capacity of 5kg, through to the carbon fibre VEO 2S CM-264TR, with a 26mm diametre leg and extends from 55cm to 163 cm, with a maximum load of 6Kg.
There are no local availability or pricing details, but judging from overseas recommended pricing, the range should run from around $150 – 250.
