A group of Sydney-based Camera House stores are organising a multi-faceted Sydney Photo Expo at Darling Harbour on Sunday, June 16 – the first opportunity in Australia for keen photographers to handle (among many other new products) the new wave of full-frame mirrorless cameras from Nikon, Canon and Panasonic.
The intensive one-day event will comprise workshops, guest speakers, expert product demonstrations and photo walks. It’s supported by an impressive array of major photo brand exhibitors, including Sony, Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Olympus, Fujifilm, Manfrotto, Sigma and DJI.
Those attending will have exclusive access to an array of special offers on the latest cameras and accessories from all exhibitors. The will also have the opportunity to ‘test drive’ all the latest camera gear on show.
Early bird entry is just $25, which earns attendees a $20 credit voucher to spend on the day. The Victor Chang Cardiac Arrest Institute will receive a $10 donation from every ticket sold.
Among the new cameras to be showcased are:
Panasonic: The new full-frame mirrorless full-frame S1 and S1R and lenses;
Nikon: Full-frame mirrorless Z6 and Z7;
Sony: The full-range of full-frame mirrorless Sony Alpha cameras paired with a range of over 30 lenses. Highlights include the A7 III and the A9;
Olympus: The latest and greatest camera in the Micro Four Thirds format, the E-M10 III;
Fujifilm: The latest X-series cameras including the X-PRO2, X-T3 and X-T30, with a full range of lenses;
Canon: Full-frame mirrorless EOS R and RP.
On the medium format front, John Wallace (CR Kennedy) will be in attendance to demonstrate the sophisticated Phase One system.
Other product highlights include a full range of professional-grade Art lenses from Sigma, compatible with Canon, Nikon and Sony E-Mount cameras and a DJI drone flying cage.
There will be workshops and presentations on portraiture, lighting (courtesy of Vitec), macro photography, travel and landscapes. Four photo walks will be conducted throughout the day, each one concentrating on different aspects of photography.
The event has been put together by Ken Tran and his team from Camera House Broadway, Macarthur, Top Ryde and Hornsby stores.
Location is Dockside Darling Harbour and the Expo will run from 10am – 5pm, Sunday June 16.
