New Kodak Moments M1 kiosk from iPhoto

Kodak Moments has launched the M1 order station/kiosk in Australia via specialist independent distributor, iPhoto.

iPhoto’s Joanna Frederick with the new Kodak M1 kiosk at the Camera House AGM.

iPhoto had the compact instant print kiosk on display at the Camera House AGM trade show day, at Warwick Farm Racecourse in Sydney October 23.

The M1 comprises a 13-inch touchscreen and PC, a receipt printer (optional), and connects to a range of Kodak dye sub photo printers (6850, 305 and 8810) and the Kodak Rapid Print Scanner. It can also be connected to a Kodak Apex retail printing system. It operates on Kodak Moments Retail Software V9.0, common to all Kodak Moments kiosks.

The small-footprint kiosk is predominantly designed for printing from smartphones with the Kodak 305 dye-sub printer, and can connect via a tether cord, Bluetooth or via Wi-Fi using the Kodak Moments app. It is also compatible with Apple AirPrint.

It accepts USB drives and memory cards. There are four USB ports for printers and accessories, but the new kiosk does not have an in-built CD/DVD reader.

The M1 has a small enough footprint to be mounted on a counter top or alternatively in free-standing kiosk plinth/cabinet configuration using the Kodak 305 dye-sub printer. iPhoto is offering the unit, including the free-standing plinth and Kodak 305 dye-sub printer for under $6000.

The Kodak 305 printer prints at 4×4 and 6×8 in gloss or matte, with a capacity of 320 4×6 prints per roll.

Inside run for iPhoto at Camera House AGM
According to managing director, Stuart Holmes, iPhoto had an unmatched offering at the Camera House trade show.

‘It’s now clear,’ he told Inside Imaging, ‘that iPhoto is “the last man standing” in quality in-store and online printing, as the only company which actually displayed and demonstrated a range of photo kiosks and in-house minilab and wide-format printing solutions at the Camera House Trade Show Day!’

iPhoto now has a diverse and comprehensive range of solutions on offer to independent retailers and professional photographers from what it describe as ‘the best brands in imaging’, many of which were being demonstrated at the Camera House event.

As well as the new Kodak Moments M1 order station, this included full-sized 23.5-inch standalone iPhoto kiosks, the Epson Surelab D860 compact inkjet printer and the new range of Canon wide-format printers up to 60-inches (with the Canon iPFPro2000 24-inch printer operational on the stand). All this equipment was integrated into the Dakis online and in-store eComm Print, Gift and Photobook Software.

The diverse suite of retail printing equipment and papers were accompanied by 11 trade show special offers exclusive to Camera House members.
