Premium photobook printer, Momento Pro, has cracked its 100th print award win, scoring a US Premier Print Award and also earning Gold at the NSW Printing Industry Creativity Awards (PICA).
The folks at Momento Pro must be doing something right to garner so much praise, in the form of awards and accolades by the local and global print industry.
Momento Pro won the Art Books (Four Colours Or More) category at the US Premier Print Awards for Middlehurst | Middle Earth, a limited edition art book by landscape photographer, Peter Eastway.
Peter shot around 10,000 photos for the book in New Zealand’s high country, at the north end of South Island.
The book’s 46 photos were shot on a Phase One XF or A-Series 100-megapixel medium format camera, with Schneider or Rodenstock lenses.
‘We lovingly produced this A2 size, 9-colour inkjet print on 100 percent Cotton Rag, and it has won the 2019 US Premier Print Award for Art Books (4 or more colours),’ Momento Pro says. ‘This was also the 100th award that Momento Pro has received for print excellence since 2008.’
The Premier Print Awards, organised by Printing Industries of America, has been rewarding excellence in the industry for almost 70 years. This is the second time Momento Pro has won the Art Books (Four Colours Or More) category since 2016.
But wait, there’s more!
Momento Pro also won gold in the Limited Edition category at the NSW Printing Industry Creativity Awards (PICA), for Intuitive Eating, a recipe book by naturopath and raw food chef, Jana Brunclikova.
Intuitive Eating features a raw board cover with exposed spine, multiple paper stocks and decorative inserts. It has sold over 300 copies since late last year – quite impressive for a self-published book.
Momento Pro, a Sydney-based family-owned business established in 2002, uses Epson’s Ultrachrome inkjet technology and HP Indigo printing.
