Canon issues DSLR security fixes

Canon has released firmware updates for seven of the 30 or so cameras subject to security vulnerabilities via the Picture Transfer Protocol that we reported on last month.

Click here to download firmware version 1.1.3 for the EOS 5DS.

Click here to download firmware version 1.3.6 for the EOS 5D Mark III.

Click here to download firmware version 1.2.1 for the EOS 5D Mark IV.

In addition, firmware version 1.1.7 for the EOS-1D X Mark II fixes the following additional issues:
– the camera may not connect to a network when using an Ethernet cable to connect to a Wi-Fi mobile hotspot;
– the camera may not connect to a network in certain network environments;
– the camera cannot connect to a 5GHz network when the SSID is hidden.
