IANZ event to feature Aussie guest speaker

The New Zealand specialist photo retailer community continues to consolidate its post-PMA future with another Imaging Association of New Zealand event scheduled for Wednesday, August 8 featuring Paul Atkins, from Atkins Lab, Adelaide.

‘This is an event that we believe you need to attend. Many store owners must ponder what others are doing to make the necessary changes that are not only needed, but critical to the future of our imaging industry,’ wrote IANZ coordinator, Maryanne Dransfield.

‘We all managed the adoption of digital cameras and print well, but we never saw what the digitally connected world could do to us and for us.

‘For those of us left standing, where are we going and how do we find the path there?’

Paul Atkins (pictured above right) with his wife Kate run Atkins Lab, an 82-year-old family-run photo lab which is the oldest in Australia. He was also the president of PMA Australia in its final years, and was on the AIPP board during this year’s re-shuffle.

While Atkins Lab has, like much of the industry, been in survival mode over recent years,  it is now experiencing business growth, due to taking a structured approach to re-building the business.

Paul will deliver his unique perspective on how to move from survival to something more secure at the IANZ meeting.
