PMA sets the agenda

PMA has announced a program of activities for 2014, starting with a ‘Boot Camp’ event in Melbourne for PMA members on May 7, then one-day consumer events in Brisbane (September 6) and Melbourne (September 13), concluding with a three-day trade conference and show in Sydney (October 31 – November 2) at the Manly Pacific Hotel.

PMAThe PMA Boot Camp consists of a morning workshop run by Darren Vowles on Digital Marketing and an afternoon session from well-known photo industry marketing consultant Peter Budd entitled ‘Build Youself a Better Business’. Sessions are $395 for members and $495 for non-members, with a 20 percent discount in addition to focussed one-one sessions with the two presenters for those who attend both sessions.

The Brisbane and Sydney consumers events – described as small ‘Big Photo Shows’, are in conjunction with Ted’s Cameras. Suppliers will be invited to participate, and there are plans to go to other major cities and regional areas in 2015.

The 2014 PMA Conference will be run over three days, with a trade show, a combined industry dinner, annual general meetings and relevant educational speakers and topics.

Well done Peter Rose, as PICA/Idea has chosen to become more pro and pro supplier oriented, especially with the makeup of their board, it is up to PMA to do what we have become used to, that is yearly meetings .

Photo retailers, suppliers, education market and framers still need that yearly “PMA” get together especially with the huge changes in the market . Decisions of Idea not to have this because of Photokina is ludicrous.
