‘The format works!’ said Peter Rose in reference to the two Educational Photo Expos held in Brisbane and Melbourne over the past two weeks…

Another successful Educational Expo in Melbourne last weekend again proved to us the value of photo education coupled with enthusiastic supplier support and active retailer involvement, with Teds, Camera House (Roydhouse, Geelong and Croydon CH) and DigiDirect.

Over 300 registered for Melbourne in spite of it being Father’s Day weekend and competing with Melbourne footy fever.

Maureen Arthur travelled all the way from Tocumwal on the Murray to attend the day, and her trip was more than worth it as she won the Nikon D610 door prize. Pictured here with Scott Blay from Nikon.

Our speakers were again key to the events success. Highlights were Jay Collier and Erin Kostopulos from Canon, Glynn Lavender ,Pearce Leal from World Adventures,Carina Lee from Momento.

All sessions drew attentive audiences, who soaked up every suggestion from the speakers.

On behalf of PMA and our members my sincere thanks to Mark Alderson of Camera House and Nic Peasley of Ted’s for their time in helping get this off the ground. Special thanks should also go to Paul Atkins (National Chairperson) who as head of the PMA association, APCI (Australian Professional Colour Imagers), had the foresight to underwrite this project. The time, money and energy required to arrange such functions is considerable, however the result was more than worth it.

Barbara Bryan at PMA deserves my special thanks for her energy and enthusiasm in delivering a successful event.

Crowd_bestSponsorship is critical in making the event viable. Both Canon and Nikon have been great in providing financial support and additionally, Canon deserves special mention for providing excellent speakers.

I firmly believe our plan to hold four more Educational Expos in 2015,in states yet to be finalised, will bring more measurable value to your PMA membership than any initiative we have undertaken in recent years.

Providing education with suggestions on equipment and services to your customers brings to life our overall mission ‘promoting innovation, marketing, technology and passion for photography.

This concept is a ‘goer’ and deserves your support.

Please let us know if you would like us to come to your city/town and importantly what you can do to ‘get bums on seats’!
– Peter Rose, PMA Australia
