Fujifilm has announced early July availability of a weather resistant X-series 18 – 135mm lens, at an RRP of $1199.
The lens has a 35mm equivalent focal range of 27 – 200mm, suitable for moderate wide angle through portraiture and landscape.
In addition to high performance glass, special coatings, etc, Fujifilm claims the new lens possesses ‘the world’s most advanced 5-stop image stabilisation.’
Autofocus speeeds are ‘up to 0.10 seconds’ used with an X-Series camera body compatible with phase detection AF (X-T1 or the X-E2).
Weather sealing has been applied to 20 different areas of the lens barrel to provide plenty of protection from dirt and moisture, including sudden rain and splashes of water.
For added protection and smoother operation, a ventilator has been placed on the inside of the barrel base to help prevent dust particles and moisture accessing the lens.
Combined with an X-T1 the total weight is 930 grams.
