Canon Australia’s Christmas promotion is a ‘Double Cashback’ with a second qualifying purchase doubling the value of the initial cashback offered.
Consumers purchasing an eligible camera at the Canon Online Store or participating retailers to January 30 can claim from $20 to $200 cashback. When they spend another $200 or more on any other Canon product in the same transaction, they can double their cashback – so a $20 cashback becomes $40, a $200 cashback, $400.
Unlike recent Canon cashback promotions, is appears customers purchasing from the Canon Online Store will need to actually apply for the cashback, rather than receive it automatically at the checkout, so the promotion provides more of a ‘ level playing field’ for Canon’s retailer customers.
Canon will support the campaign via national outdoor media in and around major shopping centres and ‘a host of innovative digital activations such as geo-location marketing’, which directs shoppers to the participating camera retailer nearest their location via their mobile phone.
Jason Mclean, director, Consumer Imaging, Canon Australia, said the promotion was Canon’s biggest investment of the year.
‘Canon’s Double Cashback promotion will drive traffic to our stores and add value to the shopper as well as to our business over the Christmas season,’ said Nic Peasley, CEO of Ted’s Cameras. ‘…It encourages accessory attachment which helps shoppers achieve more using the Canon system while adding value to the imaging category.’
