HP has announced the HP Z5400, a 44-inch wide-format printer which runs two rolls of paper simultaneously.
HP says the multi-roll design reduces staff intervention and improves workflow.
The printer will allow photo retailers to offer new business-to-business services such as line drawings, plan printing, point-of-sale, indoor signage and backlit prints along with the normal photo prints and canvases.
It delivers simplified operation with USB flash drive and e-mail printing, a colour touchscreen, and print preview.
Key features:
– Fast delivery and turnaround time with dual auto switching rolls and smart workflow;
– HP Professional PANTONE colour emulation and embedded Adobe PostScript/PDF;
– Automatic drop detection and intelligent masking helps ensure image quality and reduces cleaning and waste;
– More efficient ink consumption due to an optimised ink configuration.
The Z5400 printer is available through photo channel distributor Photo Direct on the SmartClick program. Owners pay a set price for each millilitre of ink used, which will include service and support of the machine.
