Photo Direct has been appointed the exclusive distributor for Australia and New Zealand of Lucidiom’s suite of products, including kiosk software and Photofinale online services.
Lucidiom’s flexible and brand-independent digital photofinishing platform enables retailers to develop in-store and online revenue streams well beyond standard 4×6 prints.
‘This appointment is very exciting and enables us to service and support a part of the market we couldn’t reach previously with our integrated HP solution,’ said Photo Direct marketing manager, Tracy Lints.
‘We are particularly attracted to Lucidiom because they only do software. They concentrate all their R&D funds in this area which means they are very responsive to their customer needs, market trends and development requests.’
Ms Lints noted that Lucidiom software has a distinct niche in the market, as it is compatible with all brands of hardware. Being an open system, photo retailers for example don’t need to replace their existing printers if those are working satisfactorily.
‘There are many other good things about Lucidiom’s offering,’ she said. ‘Lucidiom provides retailers an iPhone capability at a low entry cost, as well as Facebook and Instagram, of course.
‘Also their online and kiosk software interfaces have the same look and feel, which is a big benefit for customers. And affordability is not an issue with Lucidiom. The cost of software investment is minimal and retailers can install it on their existing kiosks or PCs either by purchasing the software outright, or by paying a low monthly rental which includes all upgrades and support.
She added that Lucidiom is proactive with communication, and provides monthly newsletters and lots of resource support on the website which retailers can access directly.
Lucidiom was founded in 2001 and today operates in 23 countries with ‘centres of excellence’ in McLean, Virginia, USA and Takeley, Essex, UK.
