Ted’s offers Canon-based premium photo services

Ted’s Cameras has launched a premium option for its Ted’s Photo Lounge service, offering Canon ‘High Definition’ printing of photo books, posters, canvas and calendars.

The Ted’s ‘Photo Lounge Pro’ service uses Canon wide format printers for canvas and posters and and the new Canon Dreamlabo commercial inkjet printer for HD photo books, which it is promoting as being at 2400dpi resolution. The  photo books are produced on the Dreamlabo commercial inkjet printer installed by Melbourne-based photo services fulfillment centre, Albumworks.

As Ted’s Cameras has been using HP kiosk and printing systems in store and online for several years (along with KMart and some Camera House stores), the choice of Canon equipment for its premium service could be seen as an interesting strategic initiative from the retailer.

Ted’s is the first photo specialist retailer to use Albumworks’ Canon Dreamlabo printer for photo book printing. Currently Albumworks offers the service on its standalone website and produces HD photo books for its customer Officeworks (no relation!). As reported last week, Canon also has its own website – Photo Pico – offering HD photo books from the Albumworks’ Dreamlabo printer.
