National Geographic doyen Joe McNally is bringing his ‘Through the Lens’ tour to Australia and New Zealand this month. Sydney is the first stop in a month-long jam-packed program, which will take Joe to the Gold Coast, Auckland, NZ and finally Melbourne.
Demand has been such that extra sessions have been added to the program and the day-long workshops in Melbourne and Sydney have already sold out.
Joe McNally will present seminars, keynote talks and exclusive workshops. Keen amateurs and professional photographers will have a chance to hear Mr McNally’s inspiring photography journey first-hand, see photography demonstrations and, in the exclusive workshops, get a rare opportunity to spend a day with this internationally-acclaimed photographer.
One of the many highlights of Joe’s career is that he is an on-going, 23 year contributor to National Geographic.
Among his better known work is the series ‘Faces of Ground Zero — Giant Polaroid Collection’, which features portraits of the heroes of 9/11.
Joe McNally was listed by American Photo as one of the ‘100 Most Important People in Photography’ and described by the magazine as, ‘perhaps the most versatile photojournalist working today.’
Nikon Australia has come on board as the presenting partner of the tour. Joe McNally is an ambassador for Nikon and one of the first to explore the capabilities of the new Nikon D4 – Nikon’s flagship model,released earlier this year. Nikon Australia will be involved at every session providing attendees with technical advice and support on their professional range of Nikon gear including the Nikon D4 and D800.
