Industry meets in Melbourne next Tuesday

Next Tuesday will see executives from IDEA and PMA down in Melbourne for a formal presentation of the marketing campaign for The Digital Show and an evening industry get-together.

PMA and IDEA members have been invited to a luncheon at The Australia Club from 12 – 2pm where the new IDEA personnel, CEO-designate Katherine Singson, and director of Sales and Business Development, Judd Ferguson, will be the key presenters.

Ms Singson (pictured left) will ‘share her background, thoughts, learnings, ideas and challenges moving forward’ while Mr Ferguson will update the industry on The Digital Show (Melbourne Exhibition Centre, May 25 – 27), outline marketing plans and how retailers can get involved.

At a PMA-convened meeting in Sydney last week Ms Singson ‘presented here credentials’ and outlined the reasons behind the evolution from PICA to IDEA, and explained who IDEA was as a group. She said that  IDEA’s aim is to grow The Digital Show and make it a destination show by educating and entertaining via social media touch points, Twitter, Facebook and live streaming.

Later, at The Pumphouse Hotel, 128 Nicholson St, Fitzroy, the Victorian branch of PMA is holding an industry get-together where key points from the lunchtime meeting will be relayed and other issues canvassed.

This is an opportunity for Victorian-based retailers and suppliers who did not attend the earlier meeting to be briefed by PMA executive director Peter Rose on planning and marketing arrangements for The Digital Show.

Mr Rose will also outline the ‘new, improved’ program for the 2012 Future Leaders Program.

Following the meeting (which commences at 6.30pm), those attending can choose to stay on with colleagues for an informal dinner at The Pumphouse (dining room pictured below). Those wishing to attend who haven’t yet responded to PMA should call Kathy Warlum on 02 9454 2444.

For PMA and PICA members interested in attending the lunch-time IDEA meeting, the cut-off date has been extended to tomorrow, April 13. Please contact Eve Phillips at eve@ideaaustralia.com
