The official total attendance figure of of 18,797 at The Digital Show in the last week of May was slightly down on the record 20,018 at the 2011 event in Sydney.
IDEA has been processing the raw data this week and says that retailer numbers were 1125, while 17,672 consumers attended. There were 425 PMA members among that retailer grouping at the show (which seems a remarkable result).
Prevailing sentiment from exhibitors at the event was that it was generally less crowded than Sydney, and these figures confirm that assessment.
IDEA spokesperson Paul Curtis said that measurement of the data had proven challenging due to confusion about categories – so for instance some visitors working for retailers were declaring themselves in the business category.
