World debut of new GE models at Expo

June 23, 2011: General Imaging, the exclusive worldwide licensee of GE-branded digital cameras, will use the Imaging & Entertainment Expo as a platform for the international debut of three new digital cameras, two of which incorporate new sensor technology.

The three new cameras are the GE G100 (Power Pro series – pictured right) ); the GE E1410 (Power series – pictured below left); and the GE J1456W (Smart series – below right).

GE Aptina A-Pix CMOS pixel technology – used in the GE 100 and GE E1400 – delivers increased shutter speed, the ability to continuously shoot in high speed (10 fps), advanced high-performance 1080p HD video recording capabilities and enhanced light sensitivity for sharper images with vibrant colour in low light.

The GE G100 Power Pro is a compact ‘bridge’ camera with 14-megapixel sensor and 15x optical zoom. It shoots at up to 10fps and captures 1080p Full-HD video. A built-in HDMI port allows users to connect the camera to a HDTV for instant group sharing.

The GE G100 has over 30 shooting modes, a 3-inch high-resolution LCD, optical image stabilisation, and sensitivity up to ISO 3200, in addition to multi-exposure, object tracking and HDR. It’s available in Australia in October at an RRP of $249.

The GE E1410 Power Series is equipped with the same 14 megapixel Aptina A-Pix sensor as the G100 and a 10x optical zoom in a thin and stylish design. It’s capable of taking sharp, multi-burst photos with increased shutter speed, and 1080p Full-HD video. Also available in October, at an RRP of $229.

The GE J1456W, is the second rechargeable AA/Lithium-ion battery model in the GE entry-level range. It features smile, face and blink detection; red-eye removal; 720p HD video capabilities and over 20 individual scene modes including a new ‘sketch’ mode, and a pan-capture panorama shooting mode with a new 28mm wide angle lens.

Available in August, the J1456W has an RRP of just $129.

All three new camera models will be on display for the first time in the world at the PMA Imaging & Entertainment Expo on Stand 517.
