The Good Guys down to 5 cents! (Less for cash?)

February 2, 2011: The Good Guys has entered the highly competitive retail photo printing market with a 5-cent print offer via its Queensland-based stores.

The Good Guys featured the 5-cent offer, promoted as being on Kodak paper, on the outside back cover and inside the Queensland version of its national catalogue through January.

The introductory offer was for thermal prints produced on APEX equipment and Kodak Picture Kiosks.

However, there is no reference to photo printing services in the current PDF iteration of The Good Guys Queensland catalogues on The Good Guys website.

The Good Guys is a long-standing Kodak customer, ‘but from a retail printing point of view, they are a new account,’ according to a Kodak spokesperson.

The spokesperson emphasised that Kodak does not discuss retail pricing, and retail pricing is solely at the discretion of the retailer.

In November and December 2010, Kodak rolled out dry lab solutions to all 21 Queensland stores, excluding Cairns.

Photo Counter has approached The Good Guys’ photo category manager, Darren Bryan, for further details, but without success to date. It’s not known whether The Good Guys intends to continue rolling out Kodak printing equipment to the rest of the national chain.
