November 3, 2011: Four-time world surfing champion and photography enthusiast, Stephanie Gilmore, was at Bondi Beach this morning to announce a three-year partnership between Surfing Australia and Nikon.
The partnership will see Nikon become the official camera of Surfing Australia, with Stephanie Gilmore on board as the ambassador for Nikon’s Coolpix AW100 waterproof, freezeproof andshockproof camera.
Ms Gilmore will also be the face of Nikon Australia’s first locally-produced marketing campaign, building on off the brand’s global ‘I AM’ strategy.
The campaign will include a locally-produced TVC, print campaign, online activity and point-of-sale.
‘While I’m far from being a professional photographer, photography is a huge part of my life in terms of helping me relax, documenting my travels and capturing those special moments,’ said Ms Gilmore.

Nikon also announced two competitions, the Nikon Surf Photo of the Year and the Nikon Surf Movie of the Year.
