Kata releases three big pro backpacks

August 10, 2010: Adeal Pty Ltd has added to the Kata range of professional backpacks with three new models, including the big daddy of them all, the Grizzly-3 PL.

The Kata Pro-V-410 PL is designed to fit a large HDSLR rig configuration or a DSLR with up to 300mm lens attached + 6-8 other lenses (up to 500mm telelephoto) + additional body + accessories; or a professional HDV camcorder such as a Canon XF100 (with or without mattbox),

The slim stream line exterior offers full front access to the main compartment while the four padded pouches in the main compartment allows access from both the outside of the bag or the inside.

These pouches feature a 4 colour zipper identification system and conform to the shape and size of the gear within. The Aeriform dividers, camera sling divider and top detachable pouch enables personalised set up. On the rear, the large padded pocket will snugly fit up to a 15.4-inch laptop.

RRP is $450.

The larger Pro-V-610 PL will accommodate a large HDSLR rig configuration or a DSLR with up to 500mm tele lens attached + 6-8 lenses + additional body + accessories; or an HDV camcorder such as a Sony EX3 (with or without mattbox),

The V-610 PL has the same design features as the 410 PL but accommodates a 17-inch laptop.

RRP is $495.

The Pro-Light GRIZZLY-3 PL is Kata’s largest backpack, designed to fit a wide range of equipment from a full-sized broadcast camcorder set-up, to a large HDSLR rig configuration.

Aluminium Skeleton staves , light yet durable RipStop fabrics & meshes, Aeriform foams and spider-webbing straps all join together to create a highly protective yet relatively light backpack, and in-built modularity allows removal of unrequired components to further reduce weight.

The extra padded main compartment opens horizontally for easy access to the main shooting camcorder/HDSLR and accessories. The included Aeriform dividers, Cocoon pouches and support cushions can be arranged to suit particular gear needs.

Large external pockets provide ample storage options for personal and hiking gear. The Grizzly includes a tripod sling which can be attached to the front of the backpack; double-sided elements cover for protection in all weather; and connection straps to attach additional hiking gear.

The Grizzly-3’s advanced harness enables full adjustment of all features and has a 6-point adjustable waist belt with storage pockets and lumbar pad. The entire harness can be zipped away and the bag used with a shoulder strap or the ‘Insertrolley’ – both optional extras.

RRP is $795.
