HP hits 1500 prints per hour

Hewlett-Packard has announced the launch of ‘the fastest and most versatile dry minilab system on the market’, the HP Photosmart ML2000D minilab printer, with first Australian public demonstrations at the Imaging & Entertainment Expo at Darling Harbour (June 24 – 26).

‘HP’s latest dry minilab has no equal in the market – it is the only dry minilab in the market that can do a number of simplex and duplex products in an automated way,’ said Mark Loosschilder, Retail Publishing Solutions category manager, Imaging and Printing Group (IPG), HP South Pacific.

He said the ML2000D Minilab Printer enables retailers to ‘benefit from Return-on-Investment in under two years’ when printing a ful range of photo gifting products beyond 4×6-inch prints.

At this week’s Imaging and Entertainment Expo at the Darling Harbour Convention Centre (23-26 June 2011), HP will debut the most versatile and fastest dry minilab printer in its first public demonstration in Australia.

ML2000D features:
– Produces 20 simplex creative products in five input sizes, and automatically produces borderless, double-sided photo books and calendars in four print sizes: 6×6, 8×8, 11×8.6 and12x12 inch. In addition, the minilab produces highr quality greeting cards and DVD covers.
– Speeds of up to 1500 4×6 ‘pages’ an hour and 35 photo books an hour. HP says this is ‘double the speed of the competition’.
– ‘ Low-touch’ operation provides retail staff more the time assisting shoppers, with 3000 prints produced to the high-capacity tray before the cartridges need refilling.
– Smudge and water-resistant prints that will resist fading for over 200 years.
– Environmentally friendly prints – no chemicals, and dry and recyclable prints with only one third of the power consumption, compared to silver-halide systems.

Visitors to the expo can attend demonstations of the full range of HP photo publishing solutions to create canvas, posters, personalised gifts, cards and party invitations, including a free 6×6 inch Photo Book:
