Four new models expand Lumix low- to mid-range

February 17, 2011: Panasonic Australia has expanded the FH series with four new models with price points from $200 through to $350.

The Lumix DMC-FH5 and DMC-FH2 (pictured right) feature a wide angle 28mm, 4x Leica DC lens and a body profile that makes them around 20 per cent slimmer than their predecessors.

‘Slim, lightweight and stylish, the FH series is perfect for those users looking for an entry level camera that offers not only excellent image quality but advanced features. With the newly-developed Leica lens and advanced iA mode users can be sure to get outstanding images no matter what the situation,’ said Richard Phillips, product marketing manager for Lumix.

Both models feature 1280 x 720p High Definition movie recording, so users can capture dynamic high quality footage that can be easily uploaded together with photos using the new built in Lumix Image Uploader. This allows for instant image sharing via Facebook or YouTube with any PC. Users can checkmark the photos or movies they want to share, connect the camera to a PC and uploading starts by simply following the on-screen guide.

Panasonic has also incorporated its latest Venus Engine VI image processing engine for crisp resolution and a super-fast response time.

The Lumix DMC-FH27 and DMC-FH25 feature a 28mm wide-angle Leica DC lens with 8x zoom and a 16-megapixel sensor..

The FH27 (pictured left) features a Smart Touch Screen on its 3-inch LCD with intuitive touch controls including Touch AF, Touch Zoom and Touch Shutter for easy operation.

‘These new models offer a stylish and easy-to-use option for Australian families who need a camera small enough to take on-the-move but still want to capture exceptional images,’ said Richard Phillips, product marketing manager for Lumix.

Both models offer High Definition movie recording, and users can easily share their images and movies instantly via Facebook or YouTube with the new Lumix Image Uploader.

The FH27 and FH25 now feature AF Tracking and Intelligent Exposure in iA mode, MEGA OIS (image stabilisation) to suppress hand-shake, Face Detection, Intelligent Scene Selector, and Intelligent ISO Control for preventing moving subjects from being blurred are also available in iA mode.

The new cameras sport a stylish metallic panel and hairline-curved finish for a slim profile, and a redesigned and easy-to-hold grip for greater convenience and comfort.

The FH2 has an RRP of $199 and is available in silver, red, black, pink and blue, while the FH5 has an RRP of $249 and is available in black and pink.

The FH27 carries an RRP of $349, while the FH25 is $299 RRP. Available in black, silver, red or blue.

All four models will be available in March.
