PICA transmogrifies

In addition to a name change to the ‘Imaging & Digital Entertainment Association’ (IDEA) PICA members will vote on the expansion of its membership base to include importers of all digital lifestyle products, including personal computers, software and accessories, TVs and smartphones at the annual general meeting on November 22.

Members will vote on the adoption of a new constitution to allow a range of categories of membership with a range of entitlements.

PICA is reported as expecting eight new companies to join the new association after the major change of emphasis and objectives is endorsed at the November meeting.

‘…we are a democratic organisation and thus have a need to consult with both our own wider membership and our business partners, such as the AIPP and PMA, on the new directions we seek to pursue,’ said PICA president Dave Marshall.

He anticipated the board’s recommendations for change will have the full support of PICA members
